Hoi An's river conditions and weather in 2005

Hans watches the Son Tra river & records the insects and water levels daily then compiles a year summary by months. We like Hans for doing this!
January 2005 - The month started cold & rainy. There were a lot of flies, which was really annoying. Later on the weather changed day by day. 1 Day it would be beautiful the next day it would rain. There was a strong wind and at the end of the month, mosquitoes and big beetles were coming! Sometimes there was a fog what made Hoi An look mysterious. And the river? Low water in the morning but in the evening Bach Dang Street got flooded.
February 2005 - The weather got warmer. There was almost no rain. Sometimes there was a strong Northeastern wind. The water level was low or normal. There were still big beetles, small flies and mosquitoes. On the 8th we had Tet, the Vietnamese New year. It was sunny with a lot of dust & sand in the air.
March 2005 - March began with cloud and rain. At the end of the month the weather was nice and warm. Big beetles were still around but the mosquito's and small flies disappeared. The water level in the river changed day by day but Bach Dang Street didn't flood anymore. Sometimes it was difficult to moor our boat because of the low water level in the Hoi An River.
April 2005 - April was lovely. Mostly warm and very humid, damp. There were just a few chilly and rainy days. There were fewer beetles but more mosquitoes. The water level in the river was sometimes very low.
May 2005 - The whether was fine this month and from time to time very hot. Some days we had a strong South Western wind. Around 1 pm. it changed in a North Eastern wind. In 2004 we had a big storm on the 27th. The water level stayed low in the river.
June 2005 - Very hot! Around the 10th of this month we had a storm from the Southwest. The beetles, mosquitoes and flies were gone. The water level in the river was from time to time very low. It was sometimes difficult to moor our boat on Bach Dang Street in Hoi An.
July 2005 - Also this month was hot. At the end of the month we had some days with a cloudy sky and some heavy showers in the evening and at night. Especially in the evening the water level in the river was very low. We had to moor our boat close to Le Loi Street. Good news though - for the insects.... it was too hot!
August 2005 - Beautiful weather this month. Sometimes a little bit cloudy. August was also frog month. There were hundreds of frogs in the evening that went for a 'jumpy walk'. The water level in the river stayed low in the evening.
September 2005 - September started with heavy rains. This month we had hot days, cloudy days, rainy days and days with storm like the 12th and the 13th.
On the 14th there came a lot of water from the Truong Son Mountains. The current in the river was very strong. It was not possible to go with our boat. On the 17th we where closed because of heavy rain.
On the 18th Bach Dang Street was flooded.
October 2005 - This was a nice month. There were some days with rain in the morning or at night. The frogs had a good time and many visited our garden.
November 2005 - November started with the biggest storm of the year. There was a lot of damage in Hoi An and Quang Nam Province. 5 People died.
We lost 15 roof tiles and we were the whole day busy to mop our floors and to repair our roof. The second of November it was beautiful weather.
December 2005 - At the beginning of the month the weather was ok but from the 12th till the end of the month we had a lot of rain and strong wind. Christmas Eve and the 1 Christmas Day was not to bad. The 26th started with rain but later on it was dry. December was very wet and cold. Bach Dang Street was 3 times flooded for days. The 31st of December was cloudy and wet. The water level in the river was low. The first day of 2006 started with rain and it was cold. What will be the weather this year?
